4.19.08: Raw Water Project at Napa Park

MUD 3 has begun a project to connect the irrigation system in Napa Park to the raw water irrigation system that we use to irrigate the rest of the common areas throughout the neighborhood. This project will save over $1000/month in MUD water bills--which means savings for all of us. The project runs a new pipe under Napa and Sonoma to connect to the current Napa Park irrigation system. The roads at the intersection will not be torn up. The work is being expedited so we have the best cost savings in place before the summer season begins. The drinking water fountain at Napa Park will continue to use fresh potable drinking water. The HOA is working with the LCRA to replace the current meter size that serves the fountain to reduce additional costs.

12.26.07:  Here is a message from the LCRA regarding construction at the Lake Austin water intake facility in Lake Pointe:

On January 5th LCRA will begin to lower Lake Austin. We are still working with our contractor to finalize a more comprehensive schedule for construction at the raw water intake, but I would like to pass along to you what we do have. The overall construction time is projected to be 10 months if all goes well. Sequence of Activities: 1. Shaft excavation and cofferdam construction: Dec 07 - Feb 08 ( This is what is going on now. Cofferdam and lake side work will coincide with Lake Austin lowering and refilling) 2. Install new screen in Lake Austin: June 08  3. New pump station building and transformer: March 08 - September 08 (these dates may shift depending on the delivery of equipment) I have also attached a map showing the pedestrian trail to the lake re-routed to avoid the construction at the intake. I know it is not very pretty, but you may want to post it on your web site. If you have questions regarding the routing please call Lloyd Moreland at 979-966-3206.
